Young Danube Research

The „Young Danube Research Forum“, based in Vienna, intends to bring together people from different disciplines working on or curious about the Danube and its tributaries. Starting in 2025, we are planning a programme of activities and build a network of young researchers linked to the activities of the ÖK IAD. Whether you’re a natural or social scientist or coming from the humanities, focused on the present, past or future, we hope to provide a forum for exchange.

Our activities include:

  • Monthly informal Stammtisch evenings in Vienna
  • 1-2 focused workshops per year
  • Excursions or field trips related to research areas

We send out updates for events via emails – please sign up here to receive them and let us know what you’re interested in: https://forms.gle/jsDv7vV7okSTfsGy9

Currently, the programme is being organised by Christoph Novotny (Uni Wien), Diana Hatzenbühler (Uni Wien), Katharina Bauer (BOKU) and Samuel Roudbar (Uni Wien). We rely on support from our peers to organise events and get ideas, so please get in touch if you think you could help! Contact us on youngdanube@gmail.com
